The 11th International Fair for Logistics, Telematics and Transport, attracted this year 47,000 trade visitors from 113 countries, a rise of 18% over the last transport logistic fair in 2005. The common stand hosting via donau and partners also felt the difference! The “on-site” via donau experts as well as the partners on the stand were continuously called upon to provide information about the latest developments and their practical experience in their field of expertise and offer points of contact for those seeking information on the Danube and its potential for cost-effective logistic solutions. Whether high schools pupils, researchers, logistics consultants, forwarders or transport companies, every visitor found a positive feedback for his/her queries.
The daily stand programme started on Tuesday, 12 June, with the session “RIS for Economy” during which Ralph Gallob, Managing Director of Industrie Logistik Linz, was interviewed by via donau CEO Manfred Seitz and talked about his experiences with the implementation of DoRIS data in his company’s logistics software. During the interview, a live tactical traffic image was displayed on a 40” LCD screen.
A lively round-table session bringing together strategic actors of the container transport on the Danube, moderated by TINA Vienna CEO Otto Schwetz, offered new insights on “Container Liner services on the Danube”. The last session, “Success Stories of the Danube”, co-organised with “Romanian Transport Promotion” and moderated by Michael Fastenbauer, Head of Transport Management at via donau, offered the public testimonials from key players of the Danube community from Romania, Croatia and Hungary.
