eTEN
Geltungsbereich: international
eTEN is the European Community Programme designed to help the deployment of telecommunication networks based services (e-services) with a trans-European dimension. It focuses strongly on public services, particularly in areas where Europe has a competitive advantage.
Thus, eTEN is a programme providing funds to help make e-services available throughout the European Union. The eTEN European Community programme finished at the end of 2006 as the funding cycles of the programme were completed.

The enlargement of the European Union in 2004 to include 10 new countries (EU 25) was not only made possible by the political and economic efforts put forth by the EU and the countries in question. The subsidy programmes aimed at assisting the candidate countries in preparing for accession also made a valuable contribution. Furthermore, the EU also grants funding to Third countries and other countries.
Four programmes have been established by the EC:
- PHARE – Poland and Hungary Action for the Restructuring of the Economy
- ISPA – Instrument for Structural Policies for Pre-Accession
- CARDS – Community Assistance for Reconstruction, Development and Stabilisation
- TACIS – Technical Assistance for the Commonwealth of Independent States

EUREKA
Geltungsbereich: international
EUREKA is an initiative to encourage collaboration between organisations across Europe. At the focus is the near-market development of new and innovative advanced technology products, processes and services.
EUREKA's Eurostars Programme is the first European funding and support programme to be specifically dedicated to SMEs. Eurostars will stimulate them to lead international collaborative research and innovation projects by easing access to support and funding.

Förderung intermodaler Verkehr Donau (2007-2013)

Pilotprogramm zur Entwicklung von intermodalen Verkehren und zur Förderung von Projekten im Kombinierten Verkehr auf der Wasserstraße Donau.
Die erste Phase des Pilotprogramms ist 2005 ausgelaufen. Im Juli 2008 wurde es nach intensiven Lobbyingaktivitäten der via donau wiederaufgenommen.
Ziel des Förderprogramms ist es, eine nachhaltige Verkehrsverlagerung im Donaukorridor auf den umweltfreundlichen Verkehrsträger Binnenschiff zu stimulieren, um somit die enormen Verkehrszuwächse insbesondere im Straßengüterverkehr in der Donauregion umwelt- und sozialverträglich zu bewältigen. Das Programm soll der Entlastung der Straßeninfrastruktur im österreichischen Donaukorridor dienen, sowie der damit verbundenen Reduktion der straßenverkehrsbedingten Emissionen und der Reduzierung von Verkehrsunfällen.
Im Programm „Förderung intermodaler Verkehr Donau“ können folgende Leistungen zur Förderung beantragt werden:
- Auf- und Ausbau von Transportleistungen in Form von innovativen Liniendiensten im Kombinierten Verkehr für Container, Wechselaufbauten (WAB) und Sattelauflieger (SA) mit Hauptlauf durch das Binnenschiff sowie
- Studien und Konzepte die der unmittelbaren Vorbereitung von innovativen Liniendiensten im Kombinierten Verkehr dienen (Business Plan) als auch
- Studien und Konzepte die intermodale Verkehre unter Einschluss der Donauschifffahrt vorbereiten, erweitern und verbessern und die der generellen Zielsetzung des Programms entsprechen.
Angesprochen sind durch das Programm insbesondere alle in Österreich niedergelassenen Transport- Umschlags- und Logistikunternehmen, die innovative Services auf der Wasserstrasse Donau entwickeln und implementieren wollen.
